Biography:
Obi-Wan Kenobi is a pivotal character in the Star Wars saga, first appearing in the 1977 film, Star Wars: A New Hope (later retitled). He's portrayed as a wise and powerful Jedi Master.
Before the events of A New Hope, Obi-Wan serves as a Jedi Knight and General during the Clone Wars, as depicted in the animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars and the film Revenge of the Sith. He trains Anakin Skywalker, eventually becoming his mentor and friend.
Following Anakin's fall to the dark side and transformation into Darth Vader, Obi-Wan goes into hiding on the desert planet Tatooine, watching over Anakin's son, Luke Skywalker. He later guides Luke on his journey to become a Jedi, sacrificing himself in a duel with Vader to allow Luke and his companions to escape the Death Star.
